Where can we go to eat before or after the concert? There are a number of restaurants in the area, especially on South Craig Street. When you come out of Synod Hall, turn right on South Craig, cross Fifth Avenue (first light) and keep walking. The restaurants start about a half a block after the light, and go all the way down to Forbes Avenue. There are casual and fine dining restaurants with lots of different kinds of food including American, Thai, Indian, Middle Eastern, and Italian. Enjoy!
May I bring children to the concert? Performances typically last for two hours, so if you feel your children will not become restless and disturb other patrons, you are welcome to bring them. Parents are the best judge.
What about cell phones, pagers and other electronic devices? As a courtesy to others, all electronic devices should be turned off prior to the start of the performance.
May I take pictures, videotape or tape record the performance? The use of cameras or any kind of recording equipment is strictly prohibited.
Accessibility for wheelchair: For wheelchair access, park in a handicapped spot in the Cathedral parking lot (behind Synod Hall). As you come toward the front of the hall some steps will be straight ahead. Before you get to them, you will find a door on the left. Enter the building through this door. You will now be in the concert hall near the stage on the right side. Come up the aisle and into the lobby. If you have any questions, please contact the R&B office at (412-361-2048).
Is there an intermission? Yes, there is usually one intermission. Hot and cold drinks along with baked goods are available for purchase, as well as CDs and R&B gift items.
What if I am late? Latecomers will be seated at a suitable interlude during the performance.
How should I dress for the concert? Just about anything goes. A lot of our patrons like to dress up for the occasion, but others like to go casual. On any given night, you are likely to see three-piece suits and evening dresses, blue jeans and jogging suits, and everything in between. So the final word is, dress in whatever way you feel comfortable.
