The ensemble Blue Heron – eleven singers plus cornetto and sackbut – sings music
from the chapels and courts of two monarchs, the Holy Roman Emperor Maximilian I and his daughter
Marguerite of Austria, including settings of the last words of Dido, Queen of Carthage, from
Virgil’s Aeneid; music by Josquin Desprez, Heinrich Isaac, Ludwig Senfl & others.
